The Pearson Method Upper Body course is designed to identify weaknesses at the neck, shoulder and elbow, particularly for those who are having muscular issues (lack of power, fatigue, discomfort, pain) during weight training for the upper body: bench press, shoulder pressing, pull ups, muscle ups.
Once weaknesses have been detected, specific activation techniques, stretches and strength rehabilitation exercises can then be prescribed progressing to particular rehab strength exercises in the gym. The course is also designed for people to lift more weight by determining weaknesses and understanding treatment methods and rehab exercises to help pursue personal bests in any given resistance exercise.
You will learn anatomy for the upper body, range of motion tests, biomechanics tests, resisted muscle tests, strength rehabilitation exercises, optimal treatment methods to help grow muscle and resolve injuries, activation techniques and advanced strength rehabilitation exercises. This includes current injuries, post-surgery, old/chronic injuries.
This course is designed for personal trainers, coaches, athletes and therapists to help resolve injuries with weight lifting, injury prevention and to increase lifts both under load and body-weight safely for competitive purposes - or just passion.
The course is both theory and hands-on so please bring comfortable clothing.
