What are treatment tools?

Treatment tools are the use of stainless steel instruments allows the practitioner to pinpoint and break down scar tissue and fascial adhesions, which are so often the cause of pain and dysfunction. IASTM K-Tools are specialised concave and convex, hand-held stainless steel instruments.

How does it work?

The practitioner brushes or rubs the instruments against scar tissue, adhesions or fascial (connective tissue) tightness, in a form of cross-friction massage. This helps to break down the problem scar tissue through re-introducing microscopic trauma to the affected area, which stimulates the body’s healing process.

What are the benefits?

The use of treatment tools helps to speed up the healing process by decreasing pain, increasing range of movement and restoring function.

Some of the conditions that can be treated with IASTM K-Tools include:

  • Pelvis Imbalances
  • Rotator Cuff Issues
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Cervical strains
  • Shin Splints
  • Achilles Tendinitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis (Foot pain)
  • Patello-femoral (Knee) Disorders
  • Tennis and Golfers Elbow

A typical course of treatment ranges from six to ten sessions or tools can be used in conjunction with other treatment modalities whilst treating a particular injury or condition.
